Ms. Fathi is a Research Coordinator under the leadership of Dr. Folakemi Odedina. She earned her Masters of Social Work in 2018 from the University of Central Florida. Ms. Fathi has worked in diverse environments including schools, hospitals, nonprofits, and the federal government. Her primary focus is on advocacy and policy, accessibility to services, and the empowerment of young people. Ms. Fathi spent a year of service with City Year as an AmeriCorps Member located in Orlando, FL. In 2017, Ms. Fathi was the recipient of the Social Work Healthcare Education and Leadership Scholars (HEALS) award from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). In addition to being the Program Manager of ReTOOL, Ms. Fathi works as the study coordinator on a Department of Defense-funded study regarding prostate cancer and the efficacy of web-based platforms as hosts for scientific information.
