Please join us in celebrating this year’s ReTOOL cohort on Monday, May 13th!
We will feature a morning session with a welcome address, followed by a lunch hour. Our afternoon session will be host to our keynote speaker, Dr. John Carpten from the University of Southern California. Dr. John Carpten is the chair of the Department and Institute of Translational Genomics at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He has spent his career researching germline genetics for disease risk and predisposition, somatic cancer genomics, health disparities research, cell biology, functional genomics, and precision medicine. Dr. Carpten is a recognized international expert on genomics. His cancer research work extends to prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, brain cancer, and multiple myeloma, in addition to several forms of pediatric cancer. He is also the Principal PI for the University of Southern California in the CaRE2 Center. We will close the reception with a formal introduction of the ReTOOL students and their University of Florida mentors!
